The University of Florida Student Senate recognizes: Asian Pacific Islander Desi American plight as a historically marginalized community, their contributions throughout US history, the increase in self-reported Asian American hate crimes across the US in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the merit and influence of Asian Pacific Islander Desi Americans at the University of Florida.
